Certificate I Agrifood Operations

​The Certificate I Agrifood Operations (AHC10216) course focuses on the basic skill sets for students to be able to gain employability skills necessary to participate in the agricultural industry in the areas of garden, landscaping and nursery work.

This course runs over 2 years and the 6 units of competency that make up this course are clustered across 4 work folios that students are required to complete that focus on different practical projects within the nursery, landscaping and garden. 

Within these folios students are required to participate in a variety of theory and practical activities to gain competency in each unit including oral questioning, role plays, a site planning project and observations. 

Students are required to participate in a variety of projects specific to individual school contexts across the gardening, nursery and landscaping fields. Students within the course have the opportunity to learn various basic agricultural skills including - potting up plants, propagation and soil mixing, general garden maintenance, planting, pruning, weeding and mowing (some sites) and designing and constructing a landscaping project.
